An article entitled "The Heart of a Female CeC Manager"
I found the story entitled “The Heart of a CeC Manager” posted at the eLGU website truly inspiring.
Though short, it was able to identify a lot of things that indicate the various stages that Bato Leyte Community eCenter went through in its journey to becoming the established CeC that it is now. It was interesting to note the various challenges which CeC manager Marvin Amatorio encountered from the CeC’s conceptualization, to its establishment and eventually the service specialization.
Indeed, having the right intentions coupled with the CeC manager’s passion contributed towards a successful Bato Leyte CeC. Marvin continued to seek ways to improve the CeC. Her efforts were rewarded by the strong patronage from the community and the respect of other colleagues from other local government units. This has made her an inspiration to other CeC managers.
In addition, it was interesting to note her new realization after participating in the “Adaptation of Gender Evaluation Methodology for Philippine Community eCenters” Project of the National Computer Center.
”Marvin realized that strengthening her family life, promoting and preserving local culture and creating environments for socio-economic growth makes for great improvement in CeC service delivery in a gender-sensitive way”, shared Claire Fernandez, NCC Regional IT Coordinator for Region VIII.
